Double barrel flintlock pistol, French

Maker: unknown

Date: Between 1770-1790

Status: In restoration, in collection

This is a little French flintlock pistol that I found in Norway. It has had a hard life and was quite defect. Lot's of the wood is missing, main springs broken and the barrel has rusted trough at some points. Someone added a belt hook on a crude manner, most probably when the gun was still quite new.

This is again such a controversy gun. Lot's of history and a lot said, leave it be. But I prefer to look at a better one. And a Hugh challenge to make something out this again. The wood is done, just need a finish. That will be done when the metal parts are done, that process is on about 60%. The project is in a pause now awaiting to be taking on again soon.
